I always say if you can only do one facial a year, let that be a spring facial. And if you can make room for a second, let it be in the autumn.
There is something about autumn light that feels especially rich and golden. The changing leaves, the soups simmering on the stove, the warmth of a cup of tea held between your hands. Nature begins to slow down, inviting us to do the same.
Our skin begins to shift. As the air becomes cooler and drier, we may notice changes in hydration, texture, and sensitivity. This is a lovely time to revisit our rituals, perhaps welcome deeply nourishing oils, comforting balms, and gentler ways of caring for the skin and self.
Warm broths, herbal teas, cozy socks, seasonal foods, and moments of rest can become little rituals of nourishment.
As the earth prepares to rest, perhaps we can learn to soften a little, too, allowing ourselves to surrender to the quiet stillness of the season. In these slower moments, we may become better listeners, more thoughtful observers, and more curious dreamers. We can make room for creativity through writing , painting, making art in whatever form feels natural, or simply allowing our minds to wander without needing to arrive anywhere.
Maybe there is something beautiful waiting for us in the quiet.
